Summary

Larval crashes, sudden and often unexplained die-offs of larvae, are one of the most costly and disruptive problems facing bivalve hatcheries. Funded by the USDA NIFA AFRI program, the Bivalve Hatchery Health Consortium unites researchers and industry partners from both coasts to identify the causes of larval crashes and develop practical strategies that hatcheries can use to prevent and manage them.
